I am an autistic woman doing a research PhD looking at the lack of pre- and post-diagnosis support for autistic women, girls and other marginalized genders. I am also writing an autofictional novel with an autistic protagonist as a form of autism support in order to help women to recognize their own autistic traits and seek diagnosis or self-identify.
Autism is underdiagnosed in women, girls, non-binary people and other marginalized genders. They are also more likely to be misdiagnosed and receive a late diagnosis. Women of colour and anyone who is not a straight cis white male are less likely to get a diagnosis.
My aim is to reach a wide range of people who think they might be autistic, or who might have autistic daughters or partners. I offer presentations and workshops in corporate, educational and community environments.
